Review : An OK piece of furniture but one should expect more considering the price.
I do a lot of woodworking, just as a hobby, but I do not have the work space for big jobs like this cabinet so we decided to buy this one. It's not a bad piece of furniture, but for the money it should have been better.
The doors have exposed hinges. Even the cheapest cabinetry has concealed hinges these days.
1.No "floor" in the china hutch. It depends on the buffet top to be the very bottom shelf. I will need to make that shelf myself.
2.The finish color is nearer to espresso than it is cappuccino. Depending on the lighting of the room, the color is almost black. I realize these colors are subjective, but to me cappuccino should be espresso with a little milk to lighten it up.
3.The fit and finish of the woodwork just screams of a big box discount store. Lots of small defects in the wood. The joinery of the stiles and rails (vertical and horizontal pieces) poor. The Crown molding around the top has a lot of bumps and bruises...
