Let me start by saying that the distributor of this product has great customer service; and their rep, Casey, is fantastic! That being said...

I was so looking forward to this desk replacing a smaller one that I still currently own. My BF put it together and it looks great and is quite sturdy. Unfortunately, there is a smell (smells like brand new wood) that emanates from the desk that has been incredibly bothersome to me. I called the distributor who called the manufacturer and was told that the odor is possibly due to the type of wood used MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), as well as the glue from the unfinished parts. They gave recommendations that could possibly fix the problem; however, none has worked. I've placed the desk on my porch in hopes that the outside air will help to dissipate the odor. If not, I'm going to have to give away the desk, as some people may not be as sensitive to the smell as I am.
